<p>Position Title:</p> <p>Ice Arena Media and Communications Assistant</p> <p>Job Posting Closing Date:</p> <ul> <li>OPEN UNTIL FILLED* </li></ul> <p>[Applications will be considered in the order they are submitted.]</p> <p>Provo City is hiring a part-time Media Services Specialist to work at the Peaks Ice Arena to inform the community of the awesome programs being offered at the Peaks Ice Arena.</p> <p>This position will be responsible for creating and distributing physical and digital media highlighting and advertising programs and activities at the ice arena.</p> <p>This is part-time work assisting in marketing campaigns and strategies that promote performances, activities, programs, and exhibits at the Peaks Ice Arena. Responsible, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>What is the compensation?</p> <p>$14.00 - $16.00 per hour (depending on experience)</p> <p>Part-time Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive the following great benefits: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors.</p> <p>What will I do?</p> <ul> <li> <p>Content creation for social media and other advertising.</p> </li><li> <p>Event planning and management.</p> </li><li> <p>Agency promotion for Peaks Ice Arena.</p> </li><li> <p>Public communication and marketing.</p> </li><li> <p>Facility management and improvement.</p> </li><li> <p>Generate, edit, publish, and share physical and digital media content (original text, images, video) that build meaningful connections and encourage community members to take action.</p> </li><li> <p>Create initiatives for patrons and employees.</p> </li></ul> <p>What do I need to apply?</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).</p> </li><li> <p>At least 1 year of experience in Public Relations, Communications, Recreation Management, or a related field.</p> </li><li> <p>Valid, lawful driver's license is required at time of appointment.</p> </li></ul> <p>What is the schedule?</p> <p>This position is 10-20 hours a week, Monday - Saturday. Some evenings required. Flexible schedule.</p> <p>What are the physical and environmental factors?</p> <p>This work requires: light to medium lifting; agility to perform the work; regularly operating equipment for extended periods; and exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous conditions, odors, dust, noise, and heavy traffic. May involve stressful circumstances, including interactions with the public in negative situations.</p> <p>What is the selection process?</p> <p>This position is open until filled and will be closed when sufficient, qualified applications to proceed with a competitive selection process have been received (at least seven days).
