<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Organization: Lawrence Public Schools</p> <p>Job Title: 52-Week Clerk Grade 9 (SY 2022-2023)</p> <p>Location: Lawrence High School</p> <p>Who Are We?</p> <p>Lawrence Public Schools is an urban district, located 30 miles north of Boston, serving more than 13,000 students. More than 70% of our students speak a language other than English as their first language. We are committed to ensuring that our students, who have for too long been under-served, are provided with a high-quality, free, public education at their local, district schools.</p> <p>Lawrence High School is seeking exceptional staff to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations.</p> <p>Core Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>General Family Communication</p> <p>Mailings, including Bi-Weekly Reports, Report Cards, etc.</p> <p>Taking family visits or calls to the LSA9 main office and directing them to the right information or person</p> <p>Translation as needed for family meetings / calls</p> <p>Family-facing PowerSchool support</p> <p>Student Attendance</p> <p>Processing tardies (sign-in and pass to class)</p> <p>Recording excused absences in PowerSchool</p> <p>Processing early dismissals when families come in to dismiss their student</p> <p>Accept and file doctors' notes</p> <p>Support attendance team as needed</p> <p>Student Enrollment</p> <p>Receive information about new enrollments from campus main office and share with</p> <p>Completing the transfer / withdrawal process and coordinate with campus main office; informing cohorts and sending transcripts to new schools</p> <p>Printing IDs for students</p> <p>Print new IDs for students if they lose them</p> <p>DTA enrollment verification at family's request</p> <p>Complete change of address / phone number at family's request</p> <p>Procurement/ Staff Support/ Office Management</p> <p>Requisitions</p> <p>Vendor communication</p> <p>Purchase order receiving</p> <p>Time Sheets</p> <p>Provides support to LSA9</p> <p>Support student assignments and registrations to programs</p> <p>Performs student accounting tasks.</p> <p>Schedules appointments for parents to meet with and/or speak to Principal/ Principal Designee</p> <p>Schedules conferences with families and/or advocates as needed</p> <p>Performs a full range of specialized clerical tasks</p> <p>Provides administrative and clerical support to administrators, counselors, and teachers as assigned</p> <p>Maintains appropriate student and family records.</p> <p>Prepares forms, letters, notices, newsletters, receipts, vouchers, reports, and other materials from rough drafts or instructions.</p> <p>Files/archives a variety of documents according to established procedures</p> <p>Maintains office supply inventories</p> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Desired Skills and Characteristics of an LHS staff member:</p> <p>Driving desire to disrupt inequity and improve outcomes for all students</p> <p>Commitment to the academic and personal success of Lawrence Public Schools' students and families</p> <p>Proven experience supporting bilingual/bicultural students and families</p> <p>Ability to take initiative and succeed in a fast-paced school environment while remaining calm and focused when faced with unexpected challenges</p> <p>Demonstrated capacity to create and maintain a positive learning environment in which students' diverse backgrounds, identities, strengths, and challenges are respected and utilized.</p> <p>Will to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedback</p> <p>Humility and a good sense of humor</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent</p> </li><li> <p>Fluent in Spanish and English, with both oral and written proficiency</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Outgoing and pleasant demeanor</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Google Drive, email and other frequently used technology</p> </li><li> <p>Fluently Bilingual (writing and speaking in English and Spanish)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to multitask and maintain composure under pressure</p> </li><li> <p>Enjoys being part of a busy environment with an energetic, passionate team</p> </li><li> <p>Flexible and able to adapt easily to changes</p> </li><li> <p>Meets all mandated health screening requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.</p> </li><li> <p>Complies with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and administrative guidelines/procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to establish working relationships with co-workers and function as part of a cohesive team.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to keep current with skills essential to the objectives of the position.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to facilitate student/family access to appropriate district and community resources.</p> </li></ol> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <ul> <li>At least one (1) year of college level coursework and two (2) years of customer service experience is preferred </li><li>Prior Experience in a school/district special education setting </li><li>Experience in IDEA policy and procedures </li><li>Lawrence residency </li></ul> <p>WORK YEAR: Full-time, 52 Weeks, Salary Commensurate with Experience and the Administrative Support Staff Agreement for Clerks (52 weeks):</p> <p>STARTING SALARY: $15.70-$24.92/HOUR Based on Experience and Qualifications</p> <p>OTHER: Benefits in accordance with the School District guidelines</p> <p>Position : 388203001</p> <p>Location : 9TH GRADE ACADEMY</p> <p>Posting End : 08/28/2025</p> <p>Salary: $42,411.20-$63,897.60</p>
