The residency program is designed to prepare residents to become successful orthopedic clinical specialists committed to enhancing the quality of patient care and improving the life and mobility of individuals in the community.</p> <p>The program runs for 13 consecutive months.</p> <p>In the program, residents receive advanced clinical education and training in the management of patients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions:</p> <p>extremities (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle, foot)</p> <p>spine (cervical, thoracic, lumbar/sacroiliac)</p> <p>craniomandibular</p> <p>Mission Statement</p> <p>The Mission of the Lee Health Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency Program is to provide physical therapists with a comprehensive, well-rounded educational and clinical experience that will integrate clinical decision-making skills, evidence based practice, and advanced diagnostic skills in orthopedic physical therapy that represents a commitment to clinical excellence in quality, satisfaction, safety and compassionate care.</p> <p>Benefits of a Lee Health Residency</p> <p>At Lee Health, residents will be part of the ExceptionalLee team, with a focus on encouraging communication, empathy, and teamwork. The residency is designed to develop orthopedic physical therapists with exposure to a diverse patient population and a variety of educational settings.</p> <p>Resident will begin employment as salaried, full-time employees on September 1</p> <p>Residents rotate through three large outpatient locations</p> <p>Residents are exposed to diverse orthopedic diagnoses</p> <p>Residents attend Lee Healths LEEdership Institute, organizational development and leadership classes</p> <p>Applications</p> <p>All candidates for the Physical Therapy Orthopedic Residency Program must have attained Florida licensure before beginning the residency program.
