Rowan County was one of the first districts to receive district wide accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition to a centralized preschool, four elementary, one middle, one high school and the Blue Grass Discovery Academy, the Rowan County School district also includes the Morehead Youth Development Center.
