<p>Job Summary</p> <p>Responsible for the day-to-day requirements of the Estimating Department for J. Fletcher Creamer & Son, Inc. to produce estimates for projects that we typically pursue, in addition to projects in areas that we may choose to pursue in the future.</p> <p>Projects being pursued by the department will include the following Lines of Business; Underground Utilities (water, electric, gas, storm, sanitary, communications, fiber, etc.), Pipe Rehabilitation (trenchless), Guide Rail and Sign Structures, Renewable Energy (wind/solar/battery storage/etc.) and Heavy Civil (pile supported foundations, large excavations, roads, bridges, site work, etc.) .</p> <p>The geographic area we are currently pursuing work in includes New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia.</p> <p>Essential Function:</p> <ul> <li>Develop a schedule to complete each estimate in a timely manner. </li><li>Responsible to develop a complete estimate for the opportunities that are assigned to you </li><li>Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits. </li><li>Review construction plans and gain a thorough understanding of work to be performed. </li><li>Develop means and methods, with site conditions in mind, necessary to build the </li><li>Read project specifications to understand specific requirements for the project. </li><li>Perform quantity takeoffs as necessary. </li><li>Instruct/teach and direct our Estimating Engineers for support help to perform quantity takeoffs and solicit vendors for quotes for all materials and subcontractors needed for the estimate. </li><li>Descope all sub quotes received to verify conformance to RFQ issued to them and correct as necessary. </li><li>Develop an estimate for the project that includes a work breakdown structure for all items of work with labor, equipment, crew productions, and associated materials necessary for the completion of the work. </li><li>Present /discuss /review the project and your estimate with upper management in a bid review. </li><li>Close out/complete the estimate and submit estimate to owner by the required due date. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications and Required Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Degree in Civil Engineering or similar preferred. </li><li>Minimum5 to 15 years of experience in field construction operations with a steady growth in responsibility. </li><li>Ability to read & understand contract drawings and perform quantity takeoffs. </li><li>Ability to read & understand contract specifications and associated contract documents. </li><li>Ability to determine means and methods to construct a projects. </li><li>Ability at develop an estimate for the project that includes a work breakdown structure for all items with labor, equipment, crew productions, and associated materials necessary for the completion of the work. </li><li>Ability to present /discuss /review the project and your estimate with upper management. </li><li>Knowledge of, or willing to learn, an estimating software package (B2W preferred/training provided). </li><li>Ability to communicate with the owner during the bid phase as necessary. </li><li>Knowledge of Bluebeam, Agtek, and/or other estimating takeoff software preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of Primavera and/or other construction scheduling software preferred. </li><li>Higher level Excel skills are preferred. </li><li>Microsoft Suite (Outlook/Word/Project/etc.). </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $90k to $135k</p> <p>Benefits Package:</p> <p>Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Ins., Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, 401(k) with company match, Bonus Structure, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Education Assistance, Training & Development</p> <p>We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an</p> <p>inclusive environment for all employees</p> <p>If you require sponsorship now or in the future, please discuss with recruiting or hiring team during interview process.</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer, including disabled and veterans.</p>
