In this role, you will cut, shape, and install concrete forming systems for large concrete pours. The ideal applicant has 4+ years of proven experience as a commercial carpenter and possesses excellent carpentry techniques.</p> <p>McCarthy's core purpose is to be the Best Builder in America. Together, we can build great things</p> <p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Form sidewalks, pads, grade beams, and other ground level structures by properly following/reading layout (independently) </li><li>Safely strip wall form systems </li><li>Safely build wall form and deck form systems </li><li>Safely form stairs </li><li>Recognize hazards and danger zones </li><li>Complete Task Hazard Analysis (THA) logs </li><li>Complete required training to use personal arrest system </li><li>Assist other trades when necessary </li></ul> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Form sidewalks, pads, grade beams, and other ground level structures by properly following/reading layout (independently) </li><li>Safely strip wall form systems </li><li>Safely build wall form and deck form systems </li><li>Safely form stairs </li><li>Recognize hazards and danger zones </li><li>Complete Task Hazard Analysis (THA) logs </li><li>Complete required training to use personal arrest system </li><li>Assist other trades when necessary </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Must be part of the union or willing to join local union </li><li>Prior experience with self-perform concrete work in commercial, civil, or marine environments </li><li>Able to plan and execute work with minimum supervision </li><li>Basic understanding of blueprint reading and lay out (transfer levels, off sets, and set points…etc.) </li><li>Able to identify and differentiate form systems and its components </li><li>Must understand level, plumb, area and volume/square concepts </li><li>Understand construction terminology </li><li>Identify common construction materials, hand tools, and power tools (hammer, shovel, water pump, measuring tape, hammer drill, saw, demolition hammer, etc.) </li><li>Proven commitment to Safety </li><li>Work in an organized manner </li><li>Able to work night shifts when needed </li><li>Must have reliable transportation to/from the job site </li><li>Ability to work independently and follow instructions </li><li>Must be self-motivated and can work well with others </li><li>Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency </li><li>Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds </li><li>Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces </li><li>Minimum age 18+ </li><li>Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization </li></ul> <p>McCarthy is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, including disability and protected veteran status.</p> <p>NOTICE TO EXTERNAL SEARCH FIRMS: McCarthy's Talent Acquisition Team is the only authorized representative permitted to engage with external search firms, staffing agencies, or other third-party recruiting partners.
