<p>Hourly:</p> <p>$19.20 - $19.20</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Planning, Preservation & Sustainability, Urban & Community Development</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Design</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>This role is a core part of the design team, working collaboratively on challenging projects to develop, visualize and present urban design strategies and solutions. Tasks may range in complexity from large-scale urban design projects to the day-to-day duties of operating a small design studio. Interns are exposed to urban design and planning practices in a municipal urban design studio, are mentored in design methods and have exposure to the political realities, processes, and stakeholders of city planning.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Create sketch plans, studies, and strategies to convey design solutions. </li><li>Create maps, diagrams, perspectives, and other supportive graphics for large projects. </li><li>Develop 2d and 3d base data for design </li><li>Conduct research on site history, design precedents, and other topics as needed </li><li>Collect, prepare and develop content for the Division's website and Instagram </li><li>Participate in project and process ideation sessions, contributing ideas and critical questions. </li><li>Conduct field visits to observe, measure and photograph project sites. </li><li>Assist with community meetings and other civic engagement events. </li><li>Help with layout of reports, presentations and other submittals for studio deadlines. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Portfolio in PDF attachments or web-based with a link.
