Put in your application today, and allow Interstates to prove to you why we are an Industry Leader in more ways than one.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>The estimating department is responsible for producing project-specific construction estimates based on written and/or oral instructions from our clients. Your role in this process will be as follows:</p> <ul> <li>Effectively uses Interstates' estimating systems to complete pricing </li><li>Reviews and analyzes bid specifications, bid drawings and other bid documents to prepare estimates as well as consults with clients, vendors, and other offer category estimator </li><li>Co-develops scopes with owners and other project team members </li><li>Assembles complete estimate of project costs using pricing tools </li><li>Identifies and utilizes job cost history for production units, direct labor, indirect labor, general expenses to ensure that costs are applied correctly </li><li>Responsible for communication and collaboration with internal team members concerning the proposal </li><li>Develops formal project proposals with the assistance of the proposal team, including collaboration with other Interstates team members </li><li>Assists in defining strategies and value-add ideas as needed for each estimate </li><li>Maintains and captures all necessary documentation of the bid cycle (i.e.: notes, assumptions, verbal instructions) </li><li>Assesses risks and mitigates them by offering solutions and clarifies them in proposals and post jobs reviews </li><li>Assists in estimator review of customer contracts on awarded estimates to ensure contracts cover scope accurately </li><li>Assists with sales and project negotiations </li><li>Assembles and transfers the estimate information to the execution team </li><li>Assists in upgrading and devising new estimating methods and tools </li></ul> <p>Additional Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Work alongside other estimators, project managers and project engineers on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects. </li><li>Help create and communicate company standards for estimating electrical design/build and plans and specs work. </li><li>Additional duties as assigned by management. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Experience with the following software: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook. </li><li>Knowledge and proficiency with Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations; Voltage-drop, Ohm's law, conduit-fill, wire ampacity, de-rating, etc. is a plus </li><li>Analytical, problem-solving mentality. </li><li>Team player, self-motivated, gets along well with supervisors, peers and subordinates. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication. </li><li>Able to track and organize project and information. </li><li>Able to calculate figures and amounts. </li><li>Possesses sound judgement skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work. </li></ul> <p>Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience and 2-3-years' estimating industrial electrical projects.</p> <p>Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $90,000-110,000. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
