<p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Position Type: </li></ul> <p>Secretarial/Clerical/Secretary</p> <ul> <li>Date Posted: </li></ul> <p>8/7/2025</p> <ul> <li>Location: </li></ul> <p>Central Office</p> <ul> <li>Skills and Qualifications </li><li>Excellent work attendance is required </li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel </li><li>Experience with school based applications such as PowerSchool preferred </li><li>Strong analytical, communication and human relations skills </li><li>Knowledge of special education process and procedures preferred </li><li>Exhibits a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in dealing with parents, staff, the Board of Education and the public </li><li>Assist in the PPT process and scheduling </li><li>Maintain a variety of manual/electronic documents and records </li><li>Works with Special Education staff to process district paperwork such as IEP services, 3rd party billing, fiscal budgets, extended school year and transportation as well as requests for reimbursement, purchase orders, recertification hours, student files, and transportation for students </li><li>Attend training sessions, district in-service programs and staff meetings as needed. </li><li>Assist with data collection for local, state, and federal reporting </li><li>Maintain professional calendar for Director of Special Education and special education staff </li><li>Serve as liaison with bus companies and local agencies </li><li>Assist the Director of Special Education in ESY, coordination of speech, OT and PT services for special education students </li><li>Assist in budget preparation and tracking, including the monitoring of income and expenses to the special education budget and IDEA grant </li><li>Ensures that highly privileged and sensitive information regarding the school district and individual students is maintained in a highly confidential manner </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>To Apply:</p> <p>Only online applications are accepted</p> <p>Visit www.seymourschools.org</p> <p>You will be asked to:</p> <p>Complete the online application</p> <p>Upload your letter of intent (must be dated and signed)</p> <p>Upload your resume</p> <p>Upload three current letters of recommendation (must be dated and signed)</p> <p>Applicants who do not upload all the required documentation may not be reviewed.</p> <p>Seymour Public Schools is committed to a policy of equal opportunity/affirmative action for all qualified persons and does not discriminate in any employment practice, education program, or educational activity on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion or any other basis prohibited by Connecticut state and/or federal nondiscrimination laws.
