Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children are seeking an experienced sonographer with a strong background in obstetrics to join our night shift team at WPH. Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Imaging Service is seeking a Sonographer - I. Sonographer - I provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. Shift: Nightshift, Sunday-Wednesday 2000-0630 Responsibilities Essential Functions • Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams. • Exercises professional judgment in performance ofservices and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. • Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures. • Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality. • Adheresto Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards. • Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs. • Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desiredresults. • Performs proper patientidentification,acquires patient's clinical history, and assuresthatthe information is accurately documented. • Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulatestechnical factorsto achieve high quality imagesfor interpretation. • Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated. • Comprehends and complies with Quality Controlstandards and participates in all Quality Control tasks. • Administers medical aid as required for any emergency situation. • Applies appropriate standard precautions and personalprotective equipmentto prevent cross-contaminationof contagious diseases. • Assists in supervision ofstudent sonographers and training of new sonographers. • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. • Ensures safety of all customers. • Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent withOrlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and otherfederal,state and localstandards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies andprocedures. Other Related Functions • Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation. • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment. • Maintains well stocked and organized work areas. • May be required to work at any facility • Provides patient transport. Qualifications Experience One (1) year of experience in sonography.
