We are seeking a Mental Health Professional I - Adult Treatment, who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate life's challenges and achieve long-term wellness. If you want to use your skills to build a healthier, more resilient community, we encourage you to apply.</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health (OMH), Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center (CEMHC) Jasper Clinic, 1510 Grays Highway, Ridgeland, SC 29936.</p> <p>Under direct supervision of the Clinic Director, you will provide evidence based mental health counseling, complete clinical assessments, crisis intervention, and properly manage assigned cases for adults, children, adolescents, youth in transition, and families open to Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center in the Jasper Clinic.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I - Adult Treatment</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct clinical services to adults as demonstrated by using evidence-based clinical interventions. Provide assessments and crisis management, as well as individual, group and family therapy as needed. Ensure documentation of all services provided following established SCOMH QA standards. </li><li>Provide consultation/education activities and case management on behalf of our consumers to community agencies as requested, under the supervision of the Clinic Director. </li><li>Participate in clinical staffing, clinic staff meetings and other clinic/community related meetings/staffing as needed and appropriate for case management and community relations. Attend all training and consultations assigned by the center. Ensure that all mandatory Federal, States, and Center training are completed in a timely manner. </li><li>Provide consultation and assist in coordination of hospital admissions for adults and provides follow-up after discharge. </li></ul> <p>This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the applicable position.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field. </li><li>Minimum experience from participation in a clinical internship with direct care. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>One (1) year experience in a clinical counseling program. </li><li>Licensure or license eligible </li><li>Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus. </li></ul> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Post hire, employees must:</p> <ul> <li>Be able to complete Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) certification </li><li>Have a thorough knowledge of counseling theory, particularly in the field of families, children and adolescents. </li></ul> <p>The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions including, but not limited, to lactation), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.</p> <p>Supplemental questions are considered part of your official application. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience.
