All City hiring decisions are made without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Under supervision of the Clerk of the Court performs highly responsible work relative to the preparation and maintenance of records of a Court of Law; coordinates and organizes the entire staff; and related work as required.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Oversees computer programs utilized by the department and trains personnel to new skills. </li><li>Assists data processing on various programs; reviews and corrects computer errors. </li><li>Organizes court dates on all moving and parking violations. </li><li>Obtains such records as may be required by the Presiding Judge. </li><li>Keeps records and makes reports. </li><li>Research States statutes on "Universal Moving Violations" enacted by the Rhode Island General Assembly. </li><li>Obtains "Good Driving Records" and all other abstracts for court sessions. </li><li>Submits records on appeal to Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal. </li><li>Requests license suspensions on default; processes reinstatement forms on licenses and registrations. </li><li>Sorts and selects exclusive violations to Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal. </li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school graduate or equivalent. </li><li>Knowledge of Rhode Island General Laws according to Chapter 8-18 (1-10) titled "State and Municipal Court Compact". </li><li>Thorough knowledge of department programs, policies, and operations with respect to the functions performed. </li><li>Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. </li><li>Must possess excellent oral communication and writing skills. </li><li>Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment. </li><li>Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. </li></ul> <p>The term "limited" means that the successful candidate will perform the job for an undetermined length of time.
