<p>Job Description:</p> <p>STEM/Pathways Teacher - Windsor Locks Middle School</p> <p>Position Start Date: August 2025 (Pending Budget Approval)</p> <p>Application Closing Date: Open until filled</p> <p>Job Summary: Windsor Locks Middle School is seeking an educator to plan and administer technology education programs with a commitment to a project-based learning classroom environment. Design and facilitate the integration of STEM/Pathways curricula with other program areas using curriculum material and software. Key knowledge and skills include the knowledge and ability to deliver content in an inquiry and project-based environment, the ability to implement differentiated instruction, the ability to positively relate to students to establish and foster a welcoming environment, integrate interdisciplinary projects where possible, and the ability to collaborate with all staff and team members to provide a learning environment accessible to all students.</p> <p>Qualifications: Must have one or more of the following valid Connecticut Certification Numbers: General Science 034 and/or 234, Mathematics 029 and/or 229, Technology Education 047. Engineering and Computer Science experience is preferable.</p> <p>Performance Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated. </li><li>Plans and delivers a curriculum that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. </li><li>Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. </li><li>Collaborates with colleagues and staff to continuously improve social studies experiences. </li><li>Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. </li><li>Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons units, and projects to communicate these objectives to the students. </li><li>Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media that meet the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. </li><li>Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. </li><li>Assesses and provides feedback to students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required. </li><li>Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. </li><li>Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. </li><li>Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. </li><li>Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms. </li><li>Strives to maintain and improve professional competence. </li><li>Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. </li><li>Other duties as assigned by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: $50,055 to $82,812 (DOE) - Competitive Benefits</p> <p>Windsor Locks Public Schools does not discriminate in any employment practice on the basis of race, color, religious creed, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, genetic information, or any other basis prohibited by Connecticut state and/or federal nondiscrimination law.
