<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Full-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>University Physicians' Association is looking for a full-time Prior Authorization Specialist at University Surgical Oncology, a large medical oncology group within the University of Tennessee Medical Center.</p> <p>Position Summary: This position is responsible for working on the prior authorization team to obtain prior authorizations for radiology and/or medications, schedule appointments for outpatient imaging, and coordinate patient appointments.</p> <p>Job Type: Full-time; Monday - Friday</p> <p>Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Have strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Be highly organized and self-motivated. </li><li>Requires effective customer relation skills. </li><li>Requires good judgment, tact, and ability to problem solve. </li><li>Able to work effectively in a team environment and independently. </li><li>Able to use a computer and related software. </li><li>Prior experience with insurance and prior authorizations is required. </li><li>Prior oncology experience a plus </li><li>Prior Cerner experience a plus </li></ul> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Request, follow up, and secure authorizations prior to services being performed. </li><li>Contact insurance carriers to verify patient's insurance eligibility, benefits, and requirements. </li><li>Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology; high proficiency of general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations. </li><li>Communicate any insurance changes or trends to the team and leadership. </li><li>Maintains a level of productivity suitable for the department. </li><li>Clearly document all communications in standardized documentation requirements. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Full benefit package available, including PTO, Sick Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, 401k with company match and immediate vesting, Life Insurance, and more!</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.</p>
