<p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions is currently seeking to fill the position of Project Architect within our Carlisle Division in Columbia, SC. This position supports projects, documents development and design, and performs other related tasks. In this role, you can expect to work on multiple small projects with few complex features, as a technical lead, or portions of larger conventional projects.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in project scope and budget development as well as assisting in project design </li><li>Support project management providing technical leadership on conventional projects </li><li>Interpret and develop designs for complex plans </li><li>Coordinate construction documents with various areas including structural, mechanical, civil, and electrical </li><li>Consult with local and federal jurisdictions about regulations and building codes </li><li>Design, investigate, and recommend building systems and materials </li><li>Participate in client meetings as appropriate </li><li>Conduct onsite visits to monitor progress of project </li><li>Perform other duties as requested </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree from accredited program </li><li>5-8 years of experience working under or with a licensed Architect </li><li>Architect Registration required; NCARB Certificate or ability to acquire upon hire </li><li>Commercial, industrial, multifamily, and local government experience preferred </li><li>Experience with renovation, upfit, and expansion projects preferred </li><li>Design-Build experience, or desire to work in that environment, required </li><li>Industrial/Distribution/Logistics building type experience, or desire to work on those types of projects, required </li><li>Excellent graphic, written, and verbal skills in the appropriate media </li><li>Strong analytical skills to support program development and design decisions </li><li>Strong knowledge of codes and regulations applicable to projects; ADAAG, FDA, FM Global, ICC, NFPA, and USDA </li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite; additional programs useful in preparing presentation quality renderings </li></ul> <p>Why join us?</p> <p>Barge Design Solutions, Inc., is an engineering and architecture firm with diverse in-house multidisciplinary practice areas.
