<p>Job Title: Unit Secretary</p> <p>Location: Newark Beth Israel Medical Ctr</p> <p>Department Name: Medical-Surgical Unit -II</p> <p>Req #: 0000211437</p> <p>Status: Hourly</p> <p>Shift: Evening</p> <p>Pay Range: $20.42 - $20.42 per hour</p> <p>Pay Transparency:</p> <p>The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.</p> <p>The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>Assist the Nursing Director and the staff nurses by performing specific clerical functions for assigned areas.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>At least 1year related experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Scheduling Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Shift- 3:00pm-11:00pm </li><li>Monday to Friday with every other weekend and holiday </li><li>Full Time/ Evening </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to perform assigned clerical duties (Conduct environmental rounds, stock supply closet, complete assignment board, answer phones/call bells, print daily census, complete patient rounds, file diagnostic reports) </li><li>Answers telephone/ intercom in a polite manner and communicates information to appropriate personnel / family </li><li>Contributes to the unit's overall patient satisfaction score by doing regular rounding, escalation of complaints and providing service recovery </li><li>Performs chart maintenance/chart assembly/chart thinning according to policy </li><li>Promotes patient flow efforts by actively participating in patient movement and escalating barriers to management </li><li>Promotes patient satisfaction through individual activities as evidenced by feedback from patients and families </li><li>Transcribes physician orders </li><li>All other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Other Duties:</p> <p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
