This leadership role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality psychiatric care while providing clinical oversight, driving program development, and making a meaningful impact in an underserved South Jersey community.</p> <p>Highlights</p> <ul> <li>Community hospital serving Salem County and the surrounding South Jersey region </li><li>26-bed inpatient behavioral health unit (20 voluntary beds, 6 involuntary beds) </li><li>Collegial, multidisciplinary behavioral health environment </li><li>EMR: Cerner, but switching to EPIC in July </li><li>Team-based approach with Advanced Practice Provider support </li><li>Flexible schedule options available </li><li>Monday - Friday daytime schedule during regular business hours </li><li>Separate after-hours and weekend coverage team </li><li>Opportunity for both inpatient and consultative behavioral health services, depending on organizational needs </li><li>Leadership role with the ability to shape clinical programming and care delivery </li><li>Located in a J-1 waiver-friendly, underserved service area </li><li>Easy access to Philadelphia, Delaware, and South Jersey shore points </li><li>Salem County offers a quieter lifestyle with historic towns, outdoor recreation, and lower cost of living </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide clinical leadership and oversight for inpatient psychiatric services </li><li>Deliver direct patient care including psychiatric evaluations and medication management </li><li>Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, APPs, nursing, and social work </li><li>Develop and implement clinical protocols, workflows, and quality initiatives </li><li>Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards </li><li>Participate in program development and strategic planning </li><li>Support recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring of clinical staff </li><li>Provide consultation services as needed within the hospital </li><li>Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school </li><li>Board Certified in Psychiatry (required for Medical Director role) </li><li>Active New Jersey medical license (or ability to obtain) </li><li>DEA license required </li><li>Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred </li><li>Experience in inpatient psychiatry strongly preferred </li><li>Commitment to team-based, patient-centered care </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary </li><li>Comprehensive benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision) </li><li>401(k) retirement plan </li><li>Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays </li><li>CME allowance and CME time </li><li>Malpractice coverage provided </li><li>Supportive administrative and clinical infrastructure </li></ul> <p>Visa Sponsorship</p> <ul> <li>J-1 waiver sponsorship and H-1B visa sponsorship available for qualified candidates </li></ul> <p>EOE M/F/D/V</p>
