<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position: Business & Administration Auxiliary Services Director</p> <p>Start Date: Negotiable</p> <p>Closing Date: Until Filled</p> <p>Reports to: Superintendent of Schools</p> <p>Salary: Commensurate with background and experience</p> <p>East Haddam Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, strategic thinker to serve as the Business & Administration Auxiliary Services Director. This senior executive is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of fiscal management, policy, regulations, human resources, and operations that serve our students, including food service/nutrition program and transportation.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Educational Leadership (092 preferred)</p> </li><li> <p>Possesses or is eligible for Connecticut Certification for Business Manager (085)</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with school district operations</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of and experience with school finances including federal and state reporting systems and funding sources</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with:</p> </li><li> <p>comprehensive budgeting in a school setting</p> </li><li> <p>payroll, accounts payable and receivable</p> </li><li> <p>pension and health benefits</p> </li><li> <p>collective bargaining negotiations</p> </li><li> <p>grants and project revenue (i.e. eGMS)</p> </li><li> <p>financial software (i.e. MUNIS)</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated excellence in supervision and team development</p> </li><li> <p>Detail-oriented</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication, technology, and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Other qualifications as determined by the Superintendent and/or the Board of Education.</p> </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Act as the principal financial advisor and strategic partner to the Superintendent </li><li>Lead the planning, implementation, and supervision of financial and district operations including accounting, purchasing, payroll, forecasting, budgeting, food service, insurance, legal (when related to finance matters), bidding, transportation, health benefits, onboarding, human resources, and contracts (reviews contracts for financial implications) </li><li>Oversee purchasing policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and district policies </li><li>Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and service agreements </li><li>Monitor inventory and asset management </li><li>Conduct financial forecasting, modeling, and risk analysis </li><li>Work collaboratively with Facilities Director for the successful management and completion of capital improvement projects </li><li>Participate in district-wide strategic planning and policy development </li><li>Implement internal controls and efficiency improvements across departments </li><li>Promote professional development and continuous improvement among team members </li><li>Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and service excellence </li><li>Evaluate and advise on short- and long-term financial and strategic planning </li><li>Provide regular financial updates and analysis to the Superintendent </li><li>Regularly confers with building principals and administrators regarding problems/solutions related to district financial and other assigned operating areas </li><li>Ensure proper internal controls and documentation are in place to support annual reporting and audits </li><li>Supervise staff and manage personnel matters in areas under direct oversight </li><li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, Board policies, and institutional regulations </li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders </li><li>Attend and present at Board and committee meetings as directed by Superintendent </li><li>Engages personnel in professional learning opportunities as necessary </li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent </li></ul> <p>We actively welcome diverse applicants.</p> <p>Interested candidates should submit a completed application at: http://www.applitrack.com/easthaddam/onlineapp/</p> <p>Questions can be directed to the Board of Education's office at 860-873-5090</p> <p>The East Haddam Board of Education seeks employees of diverse backgrounds and is an equal opportunity employer for all persons without regard to race, color, religious creed, age, marital status, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, or physical disability.</p>
