<p>Position Type: Classified</p> <p>Contract Length: 180 Days</p> <p>Benefits: Classified benefits package available</p> <p>Reports To: Building Principal, in collaboration with Building Math Coach</p> <p>Funding: Lilly Endowment Grant (Through 2030-2031 School Year)</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Math Instructional Assistant supports high-quality mathematics instruction by assisting classroom teachers, building math teachers, and the building math coach in delivering small-group instruction and math interventions throughout the school day. This role plays an important part in supporting the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) by helping meet the academic needs of students across grade levels.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred. </li><li>Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred. </li><li>Strong math skills and confidence supporting mathematics instruction. </li><li>Ability to follow teacher/coach direction and implement instructional plans. </li><li>Effective communication, organization, and teamwork skills. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to supporting student learning and success. </li><li>Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism. </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support</p> <ul> <li>Provide small-group math instruction and intervention under the direction of classroom teachers and the math coach. </li><li>Assist in implementing math intervention plans, instructional activities, and guided practice. </li><li>Support students in building mathematical skills, fluency, and problem-solving abilities. </li></ul> <p>Classroom Assistance & Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, building math teachers, and the building math coach to support daily instruction. </li><li>Reinforce math lessons introduced by the teacher through additional practice and guided instruction. </li><li>Help prepare instructional materials, manipulatives, and resources for math lessons and intervention groups. </li><li>Support teachers in maintaining a productive learning environment that fosters student engagement. </li></ul> <p>Student Support</p> <ul> <li>Monitor student progress during instruction and inform teachers/coaches of student needs or concerns. </li><li>Provide encouragement, redirection, and support to maintain student engagement and success. </li><li>Support positive classroom behavior consistent with school and district expectations. </li></ul> <p>Professional Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate records and follow assigned schedules. </li><li>Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a strong work ethic. </li><li>Participate in professional development related to math supports and intervention strategies as required. </li><li>Communicate effectively with staff and contribute to a collaborative school environment. </li></ul> <p>Terms of Employment</p> <ul> <li>180-day classified position aligned with the district calendar. </li><li>Eligible for the district's classified benefits package. </li><li>Compensation according to the district's classified pay schedule. </li></ul> <p>Evaluation</p> <ul> <li>Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district policies for classified personnel. </li></ul> <p>Comprehensive Benefits Package</p>
