<p>Position Title: Center Standards and Incentive Officer (CSIO)</p> <p>Classification: Exempt</p> <p>Reports To: Social Development Director</p> <p>Shift: Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with one late night required</p> <p>About Dayton Job Corps</p> <p>Job Corps' national mission is to educate and train highly-motivated young people, ages 16-24, for successful careers in the nation's fastest-growing industries. Here at Dayton Job Corps Center, we support their mission by teaching eligible young people, the skills they need to become employable and independent, and place them in meaningful jobs or further education. Students here have access to room and board while they learn skills in specific training areas for up to three years. The program helps them to complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, provides transitional support services, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps graduates either enter the workforce or an apprenticeship, go on to higher education, or join the military.</p> <p>Summary</p> <p>Reports to the Social Development Director. Responsible for the development, management, and operation of standards and work support, which includes behavioral management, behavior review panel, fact-finding boards, peer discipline, student incentives program, and student legal services, in compliance with government and management directives.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ol> <li> <p>Plans, coordinates, and supervises the programmatic activities of student personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads the SPO department in overseeing student conduct, behavior, discipline, and incentives;</p> </li></ol> <p>provides supervision, training, and guidance to SPO personnel.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Resolves complaints of alleged violations of center standards by students. Oversees review </li></ol> <p>boards, conduct meetings, fact-finding boards, and hearings while adhering to requirements of</p> <p>due process and complying with the PRH.</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Determines and administers disciplinary action for students.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports all serious/critical incidents in accordance with established guidelines and requirements;</p> </li></ol> <p>prepares significant incident reports for the CD.</p> <ol start="6"> <li> <p>Provides feedback to staff on results of disciplinary actions administered to students.</p> </li><li> <p>Conducts orientation and training on disciplinary system for staff and students. Reinforces the</p> </li></ol> <p>importance of behavior management and Career Success Standards (CSS) by conducting oneon-one interviews with new enrollees and discussing any concerns.</p> <ol start="8"> <li>Administers the incentives program to recognize and reward positive behavior or gains in career </li></ol> <p>pathways, in compliance with the PRH.</p> <ol start="9"> <li>Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of peer leadership programs, collaborating with other </li></ol> <p>departments when necessary. Inspires students to become peer leaders who are actively</p> <p>involved in the operation and standards of the center.</p> <ol start="10"> <li>Collaborates with the safety and security teams to uphold and monitor standards of conduct and </li></ol> <p>center safety. Also collaborates with staff from residential living, health and wellness, counseling,</p> <p>risk management, recreation, and other departments.</p> <ol start="11"> <li>Confers with parents and center personnel and counsels students concerning problems relating </li></ol> <p>to student actions on and off center.</p> <ol start="12"> <li> <p>Maintains accurate case notes in the Center Information System (CIS) for each student served.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates center culture, identifies best practices and behavior trends, and recommends</p> </li></ol> <p>changes that influence the center culture.</p> <ol start="14"> <li> <p>Enforces and publicizes Zero Tolerance Policy and anti-bullying measures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures all departmental administrative functions are accurate and accomplished in a timely</p> </li></ol> <p>manner.</p> <ol start="16"> <li> <p>Models, mentors, and monitors the positive normative culture of the center.</p> </li><li> <p>Acts as a responsible custodian for assigned center property.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports violations of ethical behavior.</p> </li><li> <p>Suggests opportunities for continuous operational improvement and reduction of waste.</p> </li><li> <p>Identifies and reports environmental health and safety concerns. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> </li></ol> <p>Requirements Required Education & Experience</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in human services or related field</p> <p>Two years of related experience</p> <p>Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements</p> <p>Previous experience working with youth required Certifications/Competencies Ability to ensure contractual compliance and effectiveness of delivery of services to students</p> <p>Ability to promote the CSS by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students when necessary, and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions</p> <p>Strong organizational skills</p> <p>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</p> <p>Computer proficiency</p> <p>Minimum Eligibility Qualifications</p> <p>If position requires driving, a valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record is required</p> <p>I-9 documentation required to verify authorization to work in the United States</p> <p>Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check</p> <p>Additional Information Other Duties</p> <p>This job description is not a comprehensive listing of all duties or responsibilities that are req.</p> <p>Living Dynamic</p> <p>We believe that every role matters and that every customer, both internal and external, should feel empowered to be the best that they can be.
