In fulfillment of its motto, Lux et Spes ("Light and Hope"), the College cultivates in its students the competence to think, act, and lead with courage towards creating a more just and compassionate world.</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Psychology Department at Stonehill College invites applicants for a term-renewable, Professor of Practice, Assistant Level, in Psychology to begin in July 2026. This position carries a non-tenure track status, but has a pathway for advancement and promotion. This is a full-time on-campus position, and a qualified candidate must teach on the physical Stonehill College campus. The selected candidate will deliver courses at the undergraduate level.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>The course load is 8 classes per academic year (i.e., 4 per semester) and may include Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Statistics, Research Methods, Cognitive Psychology, as well as courses in the candidate's area of specialty. Advising and mentoring are also part of the essential duties.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <p>We seek applicants who have completed a Ph.D. in psychology with an emphasis in cognition.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <p>The best applicants should be committed to excellence in teaching, advising, and mentoring undergraduates. Experience mentoring and supporting students from traditionally under-represented backgrounds (first-generation, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, minority religion, etc.) is preferred, along with a strong commitment to diversity and intersectionality in teaching in line with Stonehill's mission. This new faculty will join a department of 10 full-time faculty with a wide range of disciplinary expertise.
