This role supports daily operations by ensuring kitchen, common areas and outdoor spaces are clean, functional, and welcoming for children, staff, and families.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices, and common areas. </li><li>Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal. </li><li>Complete daily classroom laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and returning items to classrooms. </li><li>Sanitize high-touch surfaces in accordance with health and safety guidelines. </li><li>Set up and break down rooms for meetings, events, or classroom activities as needed. </li><li>Assist with light maintenance tasks (changing light bulbs, minor repairs, restocking supplies). </li><li>Monitor building conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns to leadership. </li><li>Maintain outdoor areas including playgrounds, walkways, and entrances. </li><li>Support staff with operational needs as requested. </li><li>Follow all school policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures. </li><li>Assist the School Chef with food service setup, and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and food service areas. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent preferred. </li><li>Previous janitorial, custodial, or porter experience a plus. </li><li>Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. </li><li>Strong attention to detail. </li><li>Ability to lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor. </li></ul> <p>Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Flexible schedule based on school needs. </li><li>May include early mornings, evenings, or weekends. </li></ul>
