<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Battery Maintenance Technician will ensure Northgate Markets lift trucks batteries maintained in good working order. Perform diagnostic on batteries to find faults, analyze diagnostic results and replace discharged batteries. The Battery Maintenance Technician will be detail oriented, the battery technician will have to be highly and extremely careful in battery replacements (a battery weights up to 2,000 lbs.) as well in maintenance since he will work with HAZARD elements.</p> <p>Seeking to provide Northgate customers with excellent service.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Attempt to locate and diagnose problems in batteries equipment. </li><li>Routinely replace discharged batteries on forklift and electric pallet jacks. </li><li>Work to keep lift trucks in top battery charge. </li><li>Make a list of all the supplies and parts needed to ensure that the battery room is stocked and submit it to his leader. </li><li>Carry out a routine service inspection to make sure the batteries are safe. </li><li>Replace discharged batteries. </li><li>Know how to do maintenance on all kind of batteries. </li><li>Properly maintain and repair the equipment in the battery room. </li><li>Follow all safety rules and keep battery room clean at all times. </li><li>Always wear personal protective equipment. </li><li>Comply with all company policies and procedures. </li><li>Work with the department leader to ensure that all equipment is in order. </li><li>Communicate with the battery room leader and understand the issues pertaining to lift & battery trucks. </li><li>Address any questions or concerns regarding the lift trucks battery. </li><li>Perform any other work-related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Education/Experience/Skills</p> <ul> <li>Minimum 3 months experience in the DC operating forklift and doble rider electrical pallet jack. </li><li>Must have the aptitude of effectively managing time to meet critical deadlines. </li><li>Ability to check and inspect batteries for any wear or damage. </li><li>Skill in both verbal and written communication. </li><li>Committed to effective communication and collaboration with forklift operators and supervisors </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving </li></ul> <p>Certificates/Licenses/Registrations</p> <ul> <li>Certified reach truck forklift and rider pallet jack operator </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma </li><li>Proficient in basic mathematical equations </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Work Conditions</p> <p>The physical demands and work conditions described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
