<p>Commercial Insurance Analyst</p> <p>Location: Glastonbury, CT</p> <p>Employment Type: Full-Time, In-person</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The Commercial Insurance Analyst is a crucial part of our Legal team, responsible for supporting Gemma's contract compliance efforts. This role ensures that all subcontractors, vendors, and project partners maintain current, contractually compliant insurance coverage & bonding, necessary to protect the company's interests across all projects & operations. The position serves as a liaison between the Legal, Procurement, Project Management, and Accounts Payable (AP) departments to manage the seamless alignment of insurance requirements and contract obligations.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Track, review, and verify all incoming insurance documents, including Certificates of Insurance (COIs), additional insured endorsements, waivers of subrogation, and performance/payment bonds, submitted by subcontractors, vendors, and project partners; actively engage in consistent outreach to ensure timely receipt of all required documents in full compliance with contract terms and project timelines. </li><li>Conduct thorough compliance checks to ensure submitted insurance documentation fully meets all contractual requirements. </li><li>Analyze insurance provisions in vendor/subcontractor agreements and ensure alignment with actual coverage provided; Liaise with company's commercial insurance broker for support as necessary. </li><li>Maintain an accurate, centralized, and well-organized database of all insurance documentation, tracking key data points such as coverage limits, expiration/renewal dates, required endorsements, and compliance status. </li><li>Proactively monitor upcoming expirations & renewal dates; initiate timely outreach to ensure continuous compliance with insurance requirements. </li><li>Develop tools & reports to provide to Legal, Procurement, and Project Management teams with visibility into insurance compliance status across all projects & operations. </li><li>Serve as the primary point of contact for providing insurance-related clearance to Accounts Payable (AP) for the release of payments to subcontractors and vendors. </li><li>Communicate & enforce non-compliance holds with AP and relevant project teams; coordinate resolution efforts to remove holds once compliance is achieved. </li><li>Partner with Project Managers and other internal stakeholders timely to advise on insurance compliance risks that could impact project timelines or vendor relationships; Regularly update project teams & internal business units on the status of insurance compliance for active subcontractors/vendors. </li><li>Proactively communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and insurance brokers to request missing or updated insurance documents; follow up consistently to drive timely submission of compliant documentation. </li><li>Escalate unresolved compliance issues to Legal and Leadership teams as appropriate to mitigate risk to the business. </li><li>Assist in the development & continuous improvement of insurance compliance processes, tools, and templates to drive greater efficiency & effectiveness. </li><li>Remain up to date with evolving insurance industry standards, regulatory changes, and best practices in insurance risk management. </li><li>Identify trends, gaps, or recurring issues in insurance compliance and collaborate with the Legal team to recommend & implement appropriate best practices. </li></ul> <p>The above job responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position.
