<p>Job Title Swim Instructor - Spring 2025 Department Athletics Job Description/Duties</p> <p>Swim instructors will teach water safety and aquatic skills to participants. Preference is given to candidates with current certification in swim instruction (i.e. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor), previous certification (expired), and experienced water safety/swim instructors. Orientation, in-service training is required at least once a semester, more if deemed necessary by a supervisor.</p> <p>Days/Hours Needed</p> <ul> <li>Sundays 1:30-2:30 p.m. </li><li>Mondays and Wednesdays 3-4 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. </li></ul> <p>Additional hours to be determined. Classes do not take place during school breaks/holidays.</p> <p>Campus Location/Bldg.</p> <p>Park Center Holsten pool, Student Life Center pool</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <p>Must be a current SUNY Cortland student. Ability to demonstrate front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Current or previous certification as a water safety/swim instructor. Previous experience as a water safety/swim instructor.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Ability to demonstrate front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke.
