<p>American National is seeking a full time, Investment Accounting Manager who will report onsite at one of the following home office locations: League City, Texas; Houston, Texas, Des Moines, Iowa; or New York. You will report to the Director of Investments and lead a team of accounting professionals who are responsible for the daily reconciliations of investment-related activities including, but not limited to, transactions, holdings, and bank balances.</p> <p>PLEASE NOTE: Accepting internal applications through end of business day, July 31, 2025. Relocation assistance will be provided accordingly.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Inspire and motivate a team of accounting professionals to deliver accurate work in a time sensitive environment, ensuring deliverables </li><li>Utilize appropriate software for accounting stock, bond, and option investments, as well as variable accounting and reporting functions </li><li>Execute and optimize the organization's systems and workflows across all functions related to investment operations </li><li>Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and ensure best practices </li><li>Coordinate and assist the team with investment accounting reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery </li><li>Assist with statutory financial reports required by various state insurance departments, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and internal leadership </li><li>Assist with the preparation and review of all statutory quarterly and annual filings to NAIC and state insurance departments </li><li>Assist with the preparation and review of reporting requirements </li><li>Administer the accounting system and related workflows to ensure consistent processes and accurate records </li></ul> <p>What We Are Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance preferred -Relevant work experience will be considered </li><li>Professional corporate experience in investment accounting and insurance </li><li>Formal leadership experience </li><li>Knowledge of Clearwater, SAP, and ERP systems is beneficial </li><li>CPA is a plus </li></ul>
