<p>Actalent is hiring a Histology Technician in Lakewood!</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Histotechnician will perform all routine and special paraffin histotechnology duties in our state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory. Under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high-quality diagnostic material within established turnaround times.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Cut, stain, and perform other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. </li><li>Perform accurate gross descriptions on tissue samples. </li><li>Conduct quality control procedures established for each method and maintain accurate records. </li><li>Operate all instruments and equipment according to accepted written procedures, and recognize and identify instrument or equipment problems. </li><li>Meet acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. </li><li>Recognize testing errors, discrepancies, or problems, notify appropriate personnel, and assist in problem resolution. </li><li>Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol. </li><li>Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results. </li><li>Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System. </li><li>Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turnaround time guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Associate degree in medical technology, chemistry, biology, or related life science. </li><li>Formal training in Histology from an accredited program (720 hours). </li><li>State licensure where applicable (CA, FL, NY require licensing). </li><li>Meets CLIA personnel standard criteria. </li><li>Skills in microtomy, grossing, processing, embedding, cutting, and routine special staining techniques. </li><li>5-7 years of experience. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>ASCP preferred but not required. </li><li>Knowledge in histology, laboratory, staining, cutting, embedding, and immunohistochemistry. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work environment is a state-of-the-art CAP-certified pathology laboratory, utilizing advanced laboratory instruments and equipment. The dress code is professional attire suitable for a laboratory setting.</p> <p>Location: Lakewood, CO</p> <p>Schedule: Monday - Friday</p> <ul> <li>6:00AM - 2:30PM </li><li>8:30AM - 5:00PM </li><li>10:00PM - 6:30AM </li><li>12:00AM -8:30AM </li><li>2:00AM - 10:30AM </li></ul> <p>Pay: $40-45/hr</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job</p> <p>classification and length of employment.
