Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a collaborative and organized Manager of Clinical Support to lead a dedicated team of technicians and staff supporting our Surgery, Anesthesia, and Community Outreach program. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the clinical learning environment for future veterinarians while ensuring high-quality patient care and operational excellence.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise, schedule, and mentor veterinary technicians, animal caretakers, and student employees to support clinical rotations and community outreach initiatives. </li><li>Lead HR-related efforts including recruitment, onboarding, timekeeping, performance management, and professional development for staff. </li><li>Develop and maintain standardized training protocols and continuing education opportunities for technical staff. </li><li>Foster strong communication and collaboration between technicians, faculty, course instructors, and other support units such as the Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) team. </li><li>Oversee inventory, equipment maintenance, and ensure safety protocols and university policies are consistently upheld. </li></ul> <p>Position Details:</p> <ul> <li>Full-time, on-site position based in Ames, Iowa. </li><li>No on-call or weekend work required. </li><li>This role supports instructional, outreach, and clinical service operations and plays a vital part in student and staff development. </li></ul> <p>About Us:</p> <p>The Surgery, Anesthesia, and Community Outreach (SAC) team at ISU's College of Veterinary Medicine provides essential hands-on training to VM1 through VM3 veterinary students and supports an elective surgery/dentistry VM4 clinical rotation. The team serves pets from welfare organizations across Central Iowa in their mission of surgical education. Our team is committed to excellence in teaching, patient care, and outreach, and we foster a collaborative, inclusive work culture dedicated to learning and service.</p> <p>Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
