<p>Job Description:</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>April 7, 2025</p> <p>Position Title: Program Manager, Assisted Living</p> <p>Location: NewBridge on the Charles</p> <p>Title of Supervisor: Executive Director, Assisted Living</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Program Manager is responsible for direct management and operational support of the Assisted Living (AL) Programming Team at NewBridge on the Charles, including program coordinators, expressive therapists, and interns. The position requires planning, coordinating, and implementing sessions, programs and events to enhance the Assisted Living community and meet the intellectual, social, spiritual and physical needs of its residents. In addition, this individual is responsible for direct management and operational support of expressive therapists and interns at Hebrew SeniorLife housing communities, and will supervise mental health counseling graduate students at HRC NewBridge, HRC Roslindale, and NewBridge Assisted Living.</p> <p>The Program Manager is expected to have self-assurance and the confidence to purposely drive toward results while problem-solving and engaging the commitment of others. A leadership style that is goal oriented, and yet motivates, trains, and engages others in an enthusiastic way is important. The emphasis on building rapport and trust with individuals and groups requires an outgoing, poised, and persuasive communication style. The ability to learn quickly and thoroughly, while continually recognizing and adapting to changing conditions, is critical. Commit to providing the highest quality of preparation and presentation. </li><li>Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission of Hebrew SeniorLife and other partner institutions; project a warm, friendly customer service-oriented approach and "can-do" attitude, and strive to make every encounter with a resident into a positive and meaningful experience and opportunity. </li><li>Accept responsibility for all tasks assigned. </li></ul> <p>Position Responsibilities:</p> <p>Program Development:</p> <ul> <li>Develop the Traditional and Memory Support calendars of programs and events, using internal resources and external talent. </li><li>Plan and facilitate programs for Traditional and Memory Support residents, including expressive therapy groups, and spiritual and multigenerational programs. </li><li>Plan and coordinate community outings and act as a chief liaison with transportation, </li></ul> <p>clinical care, and dining services.</p> <p>Program Operations:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the Traditional and Memory Support Programming teams by providing guidance, support, mentorship and direct supervision. </li><li>Responsible for hiring and onboarding Traditional and Memory Support programming staff members, ensuring proper onboarding of interns, and assigning supervisors in collaboration with the Lead Expressive Therapist in HRC. </li><li>Support and guide student interns and volunteers. </li><li>Be responsible for creating, tracking and maintaining the Traditional and Memory Support expenses budgets; be accountable for meeting annual budget expectations. </li><li>Manage all administrative aspects of day-to-day operations, including scheduling, financial, and communication efforts with other departments and Traditional and Memory Support Assisted Living families (pre-move and care-plan meetings). </li><li>Coordinate all aspects of in-house social events, holiday celebrations, annual events, and joint programs with the spiritual life, housekeeping, catering and transportation departments. </li><li>Work closely with the Independent Living (IL) Program Manager to collaborate on ideas, resources, and joint programs. Continuously work to strengthen team cohesion and effectiveness. </li><li>Supervise vendors and suppliers, in coordination with IL Program Manager, related to onsite equipment including but not limited to audio visual equipment, pianos, etc. </li><li>Provide training and in-services within scope of practice. </li><li>Formulate and execute policies, structure, problem resolution and support. </li><li>Initiate and lead disciplinary action, if necessary, with support of the AL Executive Director. </li><li>Complete annual reviews for programming staff in a timely manner. </li><li>Ensure program team adheres to all AGE requirements, including confidentiality of resident and wellness information. </li><li>Support the needs of resident led committees, clubs, and interest groups. </li><li>Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned, and accept changes in working venue, schedule, or tasks assigned. </li></ul> <p>Support Residents' Quality of Life:</p> <ul> <li>Establish and maintain rapport with all residents by taking notice of any unfolding concerns (health, safety) that should be addressed to the clinical care team. </li><li>Promote residents' self-esteem and independence. </li><li>Advocate for residents and act as a liaison for their families when needed. </li><li>Encourage community participation. </li><li>Foster resident satisfaction. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree from an accredited University in Expressive Therapies preferred. </li><li>Three-years of experience in a senior setting and knowledge of aging and disability issues required. </li><li>Excellent organization, interpersonal skills, and oral and written communication skills required. </li><li>Must have ability to innovate, think strategically and conceptually, manage multiple projects simultaneously and handle difficult situations. </li><li>Computer proficiency (i.e. ability to use MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel) preferred. </li><li>Exceptional customer service and teamwork required. </li><li>Ability to promote good relations in-house and with outside vendors required. </li><li>Commitment to excellence required. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to move around the facilities and stand during scheduled work times. </li><li>The individual spends over 95% of her/his time in air-conditioned environments with varying exposure to noise.
