<p>Job Requirements</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by assisting pharmacists in obtaining an accurate medication history, allergies, preferred outpatient pharmacy and maintaining patient records. Pharmacy technicians work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.</p> <p>PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES</p> <ul> <li>Interviews patients, caregivers, and family members to compile a complete list of currentmedications, including prescription, non-prescription, investigational medications, and dietary and herbal supplements. </li><li>Contacts the patient's outpatient pharmacy, physician's office, or other healthcare facilities for patient medication clarifications as needed. </li><li>Updates and clarifies the patient's medication history, allergies, preferred outpatient pharmacy, and primary care provider information. </li><li>Upon identification of a medication history discrepancy, alerts the pharmacist/physician and facilitates correction of the medication record with the updated medication list. </li><li>Accurately maintains logs, records, and other required documentation. Files documentation in appropriate locations. </li><li>Collects data, conducts quality monitors, and completes documentation as assigned. </li><li>Onboards and supports the training of new associates. </li><li>Makes workflow adjustments during staff shortages. </li><li>Delivers medications and supplies to Pyxis, patient care, and ancillary areas as needed. (Emergencies e.g., strokes, trauma, or situations that would result in delay in patient care). </li></ul> <p>Work Experience</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Education: High school diploma </li><li>Work Experience: 5 years of Pharmacy technician experience </li><li>Licensure: Current State of Florida Pharmacy Technician registration or current State of Florida Pharmacy Intern registration required. </li><li>Certification: N/A </li><li>Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: Computer skills to support distribution systems required </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Education: </li><li>Work Experience: </li><li>Licensure: </li><li>Certification: National pharmacy technician certification by the PTCB or ExCPT required.
