Ask us how we do it at the Y- it's awesome! </li></ul> <p>What is needed to be a Summer Swim Instructor:</p> <ul> <li>Age 15+ </li><li>Experience with kids and passionate about teaching children to swim </li><li>Ability to pass American Red Cross CPR Certification </li><li>Ability to complete our in-water skills assessment </li></ul> <p>The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Summer Swim Instructor:</p> <ul> <li>Working with groups and individuals to help them achieve their swim-skill goals </li><li>Ensuring that lessons are conducted in accordance with the YMCA's internal lesson plans and policies </li><li>Setting and cleaning up equipment for lessons </li><li>Communicating with participants and their guardians about lesson progress and goals </li><li>Ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for the students to thrive in </li><li>Working collaboratively with aquatics staff, lifeguards, and supervisors to support overall pool operations and programming </li><li>Participating in staff training and in-service meetings </li><li>Level 1 Swim Instructor should have the experience in: </li><li>Supporting swim lesson instructors teaching to small groups, following established curricula </li><li>Monitoring participants to ensure safety and proper technique </li><li>Providing feedback and encouragement to participants to support their progress </li><li>Setting and cleaning up equipment for lessons </li><li>Maintaining a minimum of 5 hours a week of group and/or private lessons </li><li>Level 2 Swim Instructor should have the additional expertise: </li><li>Teaching swimming lessons to individuals or small groups, following established curricula </li><li>Monitoring participants to ensure safety and proper technique </li><li>Providing feedback and encouragement to participants to support their progress </li><li>Providing one-on-one swim instruction tailored to the client's goals and skill level </li><li>Developing and implementing customized lesson plans to improve client abilities </li><li>Maintaining accurate scheduling of private and semi-private participants using scheduling system </li><li>Maintaining a minimum of 5 hours a week of group and/or private lessons </li><li>Level 3 Swim Instructor should have the additional expertise in: </li><li>Mentoring new instructors </li><li>Providing advanced swim instruction to clients, addressing specific goals and challenges </li><li>Mentoring Level I instructors, offering guidance and support on best practices </li><li>Managing a large book of clients and classes (12 hours minimum/week part-time, 24 hours minimum/week full-time during peak times of 3:30PM - 8:30PM weekdays and 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM weekends) </li><li>Facilitating staff trainings </li></ul> <p>What you can expect:</p> <ul> <li>Rewarding and Dynamic workdays </li><li>Support from an amazing team </li><li>Opportunities to learn & grow at the YMCA </li><li>Being a part of a non-profit organization that works to make the community stronger </li></ul> <p>YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer All Qualified Women, Minorities, Persons with Disabilities, and US Veterans Encouraged to Apply</p> <p>After reading this, if you're thinking this is me- we want to meet you!</p> <p>Get the ball rolling with our quick, 3-minute online application.</p>
