<p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>If you enjoy hands-on work, learning new technology, and being part of projects that shape communities, this role offers an exciting entry into surveying and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE). As a Survey Field Technician, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to learn how underground utilities are identified, mapped, and documented to support safe and accurate project design.</p> <p>In this role, you'll gain practical field experience using advanced tools such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and GPS equipment, assist with locating and marking underground utilities, and help gather and process field data. You'll also learn how to review utility records and drawings while building a strong foundation in survey and SUE practices-all with the support, training, and mentorship needed to grow your career.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Setting up, adjusting, operating, and inspecting surveying equipment, including electronic total station, data collector, electromagnetic (EM) pipe locators, and cart mounted ground penetrating radar (GPR) units </li><li>Processing data from manual or electronic field books </li><li>Retracing or surveying boundary lines under supervision </li><li>Assisting in researching existing record information, including record maps, plans, deeds, easements, and right-of-way documents, and maintaining field data records </li><li>Performing other duties as required </li></ul> <p>Education & Experience Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent </li><li>5-10 years' experience locating underground utilities </li><li>Ability to read and understand various types of documents and operate instruments in order to provide accurate information </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>5-10 years' experience operating electromagnetic (EM) pipe locators, cart mounted GPR units </li><li>Valid driver's license and sufficient driving record </li><li>Ability to work varying schedules </li><li>Ability to travel at times and overnight </li></ul> <p>Daily work environment includes working outdoors and in rough terrain. Individuals will walk, sit, and stand while operating various equipment, tools, and machinery. Individuals may need to carry, push, pull, or lift up to 50 lbs.
