<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Under direct supervision of the Agent In Charge, Drug Court Agent is expected to have a thorough understanding of the drug court conditions, laws, restrictions and forms that are associated with the program. Agent is expected to be able to identify red flag behaviors associated with reoffending. Agent needs to understand the cycle of drug addiction in order to determine if an offender is at risk of relapsing. Further, the Agent needs to have an understanding of various treatment methods for drug court offenders in order to monitor their progress.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work. An associate's degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.</p> <p>NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.</p> <p>NOTE: Must be currently Class 1 (C -1) certified law enforcement officer from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses; an associate's degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted. Agent must have knowledge of the sex offender population and specialized supervision techniques.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Please complete the state application to include current and previous work history and education.
