<p>About PPL</p> <p>Project for Pride in Living (PPL) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering low-income individuals and families to become self-reliant through integrated services in housing, employment, and education. When joining PPL, you become a part of a diverse team whose goal is to assist our residents and communities with the groundwork they need not only to survive but also to thrive.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The staff accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of Project for Pride in Living's Education and Resident Services departments under the direction of the Finance Manager. This position is responsible for grants management, recording journal entries and accounting data, generating reports for internal management and external funders, monitoring accounts receivable and performing application system reconciliations to the general ledger.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Accurately record grant revenue and expenses </li><li>Monitor grant drawdown and provide corresponding analysis and support to department leaders </li><li>Perform other grant life cycle tasks </li><li>Support Accounts Payable activity for Education and Resident Services departments </li><li>Prepare and review month end actual to budget reports for Education and Resident Services departments </li><li>Facilitate monthly financial review meetings with leaders of Education and Resident Services departments </li><li>Support CFO with budgeting and forecasting for Education and Resident Services departments </li><li>Provide year-end support to the preparation of audit work papers as needed </li><li>Provide backup support to Finance Manager in key areas </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned or directed </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A basic understanding of financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances and accounting theory </li><li>Basic understanding of grants management </li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office </li><li>Ability to work under pressure, prioritize work effectively and meet assigned deadlines. </li><li>Ability to be an effective team member and display initiative </li><li>Flexibility with adopting ad hoc duties as needed </li><li>Experience with Sage Intacct software a plus </li></ul> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Health & Dental Insurance </li><li>Employer-Paid Short & Long-Term Disability & Life Insurance </li><li>Paid Parental Leave </li><li>HSA or FSA Options </li><li>PTO & Paid Holidays </li><li>403(b) Retirement Plan with Employer Match </li><li>Summer Half-Day Fridays (Memorial Day-Labor Day) </li><li>Meaningful work that impacts lives </li></ul> <p>Hours: Full time, Exempt</p> <p>Salary: $70,000-$75,000/ annually</p> <p>Project for Pride in Living, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
