<p>FLSA Status: Non Exempt</p> <p>Department: Fitness & Recreation</p> <p>Reports to: Supervisor, or Other Department</p> <p>Manager or Director</p> <p>General Purpose: Child care workers are responsible for maintaining a safe and fun</p> <p>environment from young children to pre-teens.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <p>Maintains cleanliness of facility operations according to established daily procedures.</p> <p>Maintains up-to-date knowledge of department programs, events, and activities. Answers guest questions regarding such programs.</p> <p>Prepares snacks for the children.</p> <p>Promotes a fun, safe environment inside of the kid's club and on the playground. Plans games and activities for the children.</p> <p>Provides excellent customer service to parents/guardians dropping off and picking up children.</p> <p>Keeps track of all children at all times</p> <p>Completes checklist for opening, closing, and daily procedures.</p> <p>Assists in the implementation of programs, youth programs, and special events.</p> <p>Provides a safe environment for activities, both indoors and outdoors.</p> <p>Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.</p> <p>Regular and reliable attendance.</p> <p>Performs other duties as required.</p> <p>Education/Experience:</p> <p>No prior experience or training</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>Frequently stands, uses hands, talks and hears. Regularly reaches with hands and arms, tastes or smells.</p> <p>Occasionally walks, sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.</p> <p>Environment/Noise:</p> <p>Frequently works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather). Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, may work in high, precarious places, and may come in contact with toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is moderate.</p> <p>Certificates/Licenses:</p> <p>CPR/AED and First Aid Certification, Washoe County Accomodation Facility Permit (may be obtained upon employment)</p> <p>Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:</p> <p>Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).</p> <p>This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an associate in this position may be asked to</p> <p>perform from time to time.</p>
