<p>General Job Information</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position is location in the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), Energy Administration (EA). This position will serve as an Energy Program Specialist, the Energy Program Specialist reports to the Energy Program Officer of the Policy & Compliance Division. The mission of DOEE is to protect the environment, conserve natural resources, and improve the quality of life in the District of Columbia. As the nation's capital city, the District will become a model of environmental protection and sustainable environmental practices. In partnership with other District agencies, the federal government, business groups, non-profit organizations, and residents, the department will help instill environmental awareness through innovation and best practices.</p> <p>This position will support the District's Solar for All program, which brings the benefits of solar energy to low to moderate income families in the District. DOEE partners with organizations across the District to install solar on single family homes and develop community solar projects to benefit renters and residents in multi-family buildings. DOEE has also recently been awarded a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund to continue to grow this program, and this position would engage in grants management, compliance, and support functions to ensure those funds are appropriately spent and serve the goals of the program.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>Perform administrative coordination of grants, programs, and activities for projects related to clean energy, clean transportation, energy efficiency, energy planning, utility regulatory issues, energy affordability, and grid planning. Compile staff reports to provides formal reports, research, and recommendation regarding compliance with grant, program issues, performance, and overall day-to-day operations of assigned projects. Establish procedures for program implementation.</p> <p>Collect data and conducts evaluations of various factors involved in program operations. Maintain detailed records and monitors program activities and project tasks in accordance with the intended guidelines. Ensure compliance with agency policies, US Department of Energy regulations, District laws and building codes. Develop data collection and analysis into recommendations that promote increased clean energy generation, proliferation of clean transportation, and energy management and conservation in all end-use sectors. Participate in planning and developing plans into program operations.</p> <p>Qualifications and Education</p> <p>Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position and has equipped the individual with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
