At Cleveland Clinic, caregivers understand these issues are just as real as those that affect the body. Cleveland Clinic offers comprehensive mental health programs, allowing patients to receive the personalized, confidential and judgment-free support they need. As a Behavioral Health Therapist in our School Mental Health Program, you will utilize your specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills to care for children with various diagnoses, treatment needs and abilities while they attend school. Your work will directly impact their lives as you help them improve their overall well-being both in the classroom and home environment.</p> <p>This position is fully grant funded by SAMHSA (Expanding Comprehensive School Mental Healthcare grant) through September 2026 with the possibility to extend the position through other funding sources. This position is the third mental health navigator on the team, and the new hire will work primarily in two districts (Berea and Garfield Heights) within the inner ring suburbs of Cleveland. Training for the first few months will be in Lakewood at our mature school mental health site and also in Garfield Heights. The Mental Health Navigator works closely with doctors, therapists, school counselors, nurses, psychologists and teachers to best support youth and their families. The Mental Health Navigator has a small number of therapy cases but primarily leads the team within their district through triaging referrals, conducting mental health assessments, linking patients to needed services, family and parent coaching, coordinating and facilitating weekly team case discussions, and serving as the "glue" that connects education and clinical services. This position is clinically fast paced with a lot of clinical and administrative variety during the school year. The position has slower periods during holidays and summers for more administrative tasks.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with occasional local travel requirements.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li>Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments and treatment plans to patients. </li><li>Provide individual, group, family and crisis counseling. </li><li>Utilize a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum, from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. </li><li>Participate in the development and implementation of assessments based on interdisciplinary treatment plans. </li><li>Consult with team members, statutory/voluntary agencies and relatives to ensure compliance with the patient treatment plan. </li><li>Act as a liaison between patients, families, community support workers and facilities to obtain information and facilitate discharge planning. </li><li>Educate and provide resources to patients and families. </li><li>Supervise and/or train lower-level social workers, students or interns. </li><li>Process paperwork and complete clinical documentation. </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field </li><li>Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with no record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports </li><li>Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting </li><li>Comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with children and adolescents </li></ul> <p>Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities.
