<p>This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.</p> <p>This psychologist position is the National Director, Behavioral Headache Medicine of a Nationally Designated Headache Centers of Excellence field based at VA Connecticut Healthcare System (VACHS). This position is equivalent to a GS14 Program Manager Psychologist. The National Director, Behavioral Headache Medicine operates with wide latitude and independent judgment in terms of operation and management of key clinical, training, and administrative authority.</p> <p>The National Director, Behavioral Headache Medicine possesses broad-based clinical, administrative, and supervisory knowledge, skills, and abilities that serve to facilitate the successful operation of the national Headache Centers of Excellence (HCoE) programs. They are responsible for identifying programmatic goals independently and in conjunction with the HCoE National Director and leadership. Programmatic decisions are made from an informed perspective, and such decisions are implemented with the knowledge that these impact the HCoE programs nationally. They serve as the point-person who develops and implements programs, policies, and procedures for the HCoE sites across VHA:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Deliver training in evidence-based practices for headache, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-HA).</p> </li><li> <p>Provide clinical consultation about evidence-based behavioral interventions for headache to providers at VA sites participating in the national HCoE programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist sites in establishing telehealth service agreements within their region to reach more Veterans.</p> </li><li> <p>Harmonize documentation practices for the delivery of services in HCoE.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead or assist in recruiting HCoE applicants locally and nationally as requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead quality improvement efforts that continuously evaluate and improve aspects of HCoE performance.</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as a subject matter expert for HCoE for regional or national practice calls, webinars (e.g., VHA Headache Evaluation and Management Webinar Series), committees (e.g., HCoE educational workgroup), and local and national conferences.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend national HCoE meetings and participate actively in program development and evaluation efforts.</p> </li></ol> <p>VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck</p> <p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional</p> <p>Work Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.</p> <p>EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)</p> <p>Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.</p> <p>Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.</p> <p>Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Telework: Ad-Hoc</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p>
