Duties include carrying out a research program in an area of Combinatorics or Graph Theory, teaching a broad range of classes, and service-related activities for the department. The successful candidate will typically teach two courses per semester. Candidates should have a PhD in Mathematics, with a proven record of collaborative and independent research backed up by quality publications, have strong communications skills, and will be expected to seek external funding.</p> <p>The University of Memphis has strong traditions in Combinatorics and Graph Theory and was host to a decades-long collaboration between Paul Erdos and some of his most frequent coauthors. The successful candidate is expected to become a leader in their field and carry on those traditions. There are currently active members working in Graph Theory, Algebraic Combinatorics, Finite Geometry and Additive Combinatorics.
