We seek qualified applicants who will provide strategic leadership to the Dean with overseeing the Graduate programs and play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the College. As we recently celebrated 175 years of academic excellence and innovation, please visit CCSU to learn more.</p> <p>About CCSU's College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences</p> <p>The College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences is home to Central's health sciences departments such as Nursing and Physical Education and Human Performance, along with human service disciplines such as Counselor Education and Family Therapy, and Social Work. Students are provided with a comprehensive inter-professional education, equipping them with the essential skills and experiences needed for careers in various health and human service fields. Collaborative programs emphasize holistic, patient-centered approaches including prevention, assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and chronic illness management. These programs and practical experiences foster cultural competency and advocacy in healthcare, empowering students to become transformative leaders in health and rehabilitation services.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>The Assistant Dean provides administrative support to the Dean, overseeing various aspects of the college's operations, including graduate student academic progress, complaints, grading issues, orientation, and advising. This ensures smooth day-to-day functioning and contributes to the school's strategic goals. Student services include monitoring and mentoring student progress, enforcing academic standards, reviewing petitions and appeals, providing academic counseling and remedial programs, overseeing placement programs for residencies, fellowships, and internships with affiliated institutions, directing career placement and graduate placement services, and advocating for student concerns and needs with the faculty and administration. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary graduate liaison, coordinating support and resources to enhance student success in the Community Health Education Clinic.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations as well as University and BOR/CSCU policies and procedures; Knowledge of and ability to apply best practices in working with specialized student populations; Extensive knowledge of and ability to coordinate and conduct programming and outreach; Considerable ability to use computers, computerized systems, platforms and software, including Microsoft Office Suite; Proficient interpersonal skills and presentation skills including use of presentation software; Oral and written communication skills required; Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; Ability to collect, analyze, and prepare data; Ability to prepare reports and other materials; Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collegial manner with students, faculty, staff, administration, and the public. Progressive leadership or managerial role that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of strategic planning, management, team building, leadership skills, fiscal management, and best practices.</p> <p>Applicant Evaluative Criteria</p> <p>Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>All applicants must possess a Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education.</p> <p>Experience and Training:</p> <p>Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience in administering academic operations, programs, and services.</p> <p>Demonstrated understanding of the objectives and needs of undergraduate and/or graduate students.</p> <p>Ideal Candidate</p> <p>Preference will be given to applicants with the following:</p> <ul> <li>A terminal degree in a health-related field (Ph.D., DrPH, DNP, DPT or closely related field) </li><li>Experience with accredited graduate programs within the field of health and rehabilitation sciences or health professions </li><li>Proven experience in Assessment for academic programs </li><li>Experience with CRM systems and student data analytics </li><li>Experience in supporting the development and implementation of retention strategies, including orientation programs, academic support, career development, and initiatives to improve graduation rates </li><li>Demonstrated ability to cultivate and sustain relationships with industry, alumni and community organizations to support applied research, workforce development, and economic engagement </li></ul> <p>To Apply</p> <p>To begin the application process, select the "Apply" button and electronically submit the following documents by May 11, 2026.</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest addressing the qualifications for this position. </li><li>Current Résumé </li><li>Names of three current professional references with title, email addresses and telephone numbers. </li></ul> <p>Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
