<p>Piper Companies is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join a very profitable insurance organization. This is a full-time position offering hybrid flexibility out of Frederick, MD.</p> <p>Essential Duties of the Software Engineering Manager:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the development and implementation of digital platforms using microservices, cloud technologies, AI/ML, and DevOps principles. </li><li>Lead and guide the scrum team to ensure the delivery of solutions. </li><li>Build, mentor, and retain a team of high-performing Software Engineers and QA Analysts. </li><li>Promote innovation and transformation by seeking out opportunities to improve processes and platforms. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications of the Software Engineering Manager:</p> <ul> <li>5+ years of professional experience developing web applications </li><li>2+ years of experience in people management/leadership positions (teams of 3+) </li><li>Experience in Agile environments. </li><li>Experience with Java or .NET on the backend </li><li>Experience in insurance or FinTech preferred, but not required. </li></ul> <p>Compensation for the Software Engineering Manager:</p> <ul> <li>$120,000 - $160,000 (based on experience) with 20% annual bonus eligibility </li><li>2 remote days per week </li><li>20 PTO days, 10 sick days, 13 paid holidays </li><li>Comprehensive benefit package; Cigna Medical, Cigna Dental, Vision, 401k w/ ADP, PTO, paid holidays, Sick Leave as required by law, paid holidays </li></ul> <p>This job opens for applications on 3/31/2026.
