<p>GENERAL DESCRIPTION:</p> <p>We are seeking qualified applicants for the Substitute Teaching position to provide coverage for absent teachers throughout the school district. This is an on-call, as needed position. Applicants must be comfortable teaching in person and have technology knowledge and skills to be considered for this position.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>This list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary and without notice. Depending upon individual assignments, the teacher performs all or a combination of several of the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Meet and instruct assigned classes in the location and at the time designated. </li><li>Implement provided lesson plans and instructional material and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. </li><li>Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for individual interests and learning styles of students. </li><li>Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and be able to communicate these objectives for all lessons using district-approved curriculum. </li><li>Use instructional methods and materials consistent with models of the building instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. </li><li>Effectively utilize district technology appropriate to the position </li><li>Use effective classroom management techniques by establishing, sharing, and maintaining standards of pupil behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere consistent with building and District policy. </li><li>Evaluate pupil's academic and social growth, keep appropriate records and prepare progress reports and report cards. </li><li>Maintain regular attendance report as indicated by the district. </li><li>Strive to update and maintain professional competence. </li><li>Attend staff meetings as per the collective bargaining agreement, District and state policies. </li><li>Comply with District rules and regulations. </li><li>Conduct all work in a safe manner as specified by WISHA regulations and District rules. </li><li>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience teaching elementary, middle and high school aged students. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Valid WA State teacher certificate</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>District may consider sponsorship for Emergency Sub Certificates once official transcripts and hiring documentation has been received and verified. <p></p> </li><li> <p>Collaborative attitude with desire to learn.</p> </li></ul> <p>Employment contingent upon successful clearance of a Washington State Patrol, FBI fingerprint criminal history background check, and Sexual Misconduct background check.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>Insurance Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and long term disability plans provided through and in accordance with the rules of School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB); minimum hours requirement applies.</p> <p>Retirement Benefits: Provided through the WA State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS); minimum hours requirement applies.</p> <p>Paid Leave Benefits: None</p> <p>Sick leave in accordance with I-1433</p> <p>Other Fringe Benefits: None</p> <p>Acknowledgement:</p> <p>Eatonville School District #404 reserves the right to modify and interpret this job description.
