Serve as a clinical resource and consultant to patients, families, UMHS providers and referring providers in the management of complex and chronic wounds. </li><li>Interview patients to obtain a detailed history, perform examinations, and present pertinent data to the Medical staff. </li><li>Collect and assist in the interpretation of reports from diagnostic and laboratory tests, radiographic procedures, and clinical evaluations. </li><li>Order tests and prescribe medications under the supervision of a physician. </li><li>Collaborate with medical staff in the delivery of care to patients and families. </li><li>Coordinate care and make internal/external referrals as appropriate. </li><li>Provide appropriate written and electronic documentation regarding patient status, evaluations, and treatment. </li><li>Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop/implement patient education and clinical pathways for the care of patients with chronic and complex wounds. </li><li>Evaluate appropriateness of and supervise patients in the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber. </li><li>Candidate will participate in department meetings to continually improve clinic processes. </li><li>The candidate will participate in continuing education/professional development activities to maintain role competency, increase professional knowledge, and stay current on the care of complex and chronic wound care. </li><li>Certified Wound Care Advanced Practice/Wound Care Specialist (WCC-AP) by a nationally recognized accreditation board within one to four years of hire if not already certified, and dependent upon experience.
