<p>Days per Year: 187</p> <p>Min: $60,500</p> <p>JOB TITLE: ESL Teacher</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt</p> <p>PAY GRADE: Teacher Salary Scale</p> <p>PRIMARY PURPOSE:</p> <p>The ESL Teacher will pull small groups of students needing assistance to give them additional support in LA to ensure their Academic Success.</p> <p>All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support organizational goals, communicate in a clear and respectful manner, championing the needs of our students and drive continuous improvement.</p> <p>QUALIFICATONS:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited College or University </li><li>Valid Texas teaching certificate </li><li>ESL Certificate </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>At least one year of student teaching or approved internship </li></ul> <p>SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of subjects assigned </li><li>General knowledge of curriculum and instruction </li><li>Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior </li><li>Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Flexible and patient </li></ul> <p>MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide additional student support through small groups for all grades </li><li>Assist administrators and teachers with the planning and implementation of effective instructional interventions and tutorials. </li><li>Monitor the progress of identified students following STAAR interventions. </li><li>Monitor the academic progress of identified students following interventions based on CBA data. </li><li>Communicate by maintaining on-going communication with administrators, and classroom teachers. </li><li>Any other duties deemed necessary by the principal to further develop the education of the students as a whole. </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
