<p>The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for numerous types of equipment found at the facility and having the ability to repair both mechanical and electrical devices within that piece of equipment.</p> <p>Major Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Follow proper procedures and techniques to disassemble, test, troubleshoot, modify, and repair and fireplace defective parts and components. </li><li>Removing, replacing, tightening, and splicing defective wiring, controls, switches, relays and electrical/electronic components. </li><li>Refers to blueprints, schematics, engineering and manufacturers1 specification, wiring diagrams and other such controlling criteria, if available, that indicate the nature of the repair or installation to be made and uses a variety of test equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, flow meters, feelers, depth tension and spring gauges, micrometers and dial indicators. </li><li>Make adjustments set cams or other controls, and perform operational tests of items for specified performance characteristics such as torque, force, voltage, and current consumption or to detect excessive vibration, overheating, surge or drag. </li><li>Remove units and perform functional tests to determine first if the malfunction is in the electrical, mechanical, or pneumatic suction. </li><li>Perform complete or partial tear down of the equipment, and using a variety of general and special purpose test equipment they check gears for backlash and alignment and synchros and resolvers for accuracy and phasing, They replace bearings and bent or binding </li></ul> <p>shafts and adjust slip rings.</p> <ul> <li>Examine electrical components of continuity and perform specified test for voltage, current, and resistance replacing components/electronic boards as required. </li><li>Interpret technical specifications, schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings in planning and laying out, and completing the installation, modification and repair of various equipment. </li><li>Install, replace, adjust, and set various regulating or safety devices such as meters, gauges, governors, and automatic alarms. </li><li>Other duties, as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: Full time, 4:30pm - 1:00am</p> <p>Position Description Title/PD#: Maintenance Mechanic/PD04061O</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorized</p>
