<p>Apply</p> <p>Job Type</p> <p>Part-time</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Graduate Assistant for Prevention Education</p> <p>POSITION: Graduate Assistant for Prevention Education</p> <p>SUPERVISOR: Deputy Title IX Coordinator</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: Center for Compliance, Accessibility, Resources, and Education (CARE)</p> <p>LOCATION: On-campus at Tiffin University in Tiffin, OH</p> <p>JOB TYPE: Part-time (20 hours per week)</p> <p>GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>Tiffin University is seeking a Graduate Assistant for Prevention Education who will provide departmental assistance and customer service support to facilitate the administration of educational programs in accordance with the Center for Compliance, Accessibility, Resources & Education's (CARE) Comprehensive Prevention Plan and applicable civil rights laws related to campus response and prevention for power-based personal violence.</p> <p>The Graduate Assistant for Prevention Education will be responsible for both short and long-term projects in the office that directly relate to ongoing prevention and awareness efforts. The Graduate Assistant will have some experience and/or knowledge of power-based personal violence prevention, trauma-informed response, and peer-to-peer education, and will be able to rapidly assume all responsibilities related to the position in a professional manner that reflects the mission of Tiffin University. The position will assist in ensuring compliance with federal regulations and guidance while striving to advance initiatives beyond the requirements.</p> <p>This is a part-time position, offering valuable professional experience in a dynamic academic setting. The GA will work 20 hours per week. The benefits of this position include a monthly stipend, and 100% of tuition costs are covered by Tiffin University. The Graduate Assistant MUST be admitted and enrolled in a minimum of 4 credit hours each semester towards a Master's program at Tiffin University to be eligible and maintain eligibility, as well as maintain enrollment and good academic standing throughout the assistantship.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Develop prevention and outreach programs centered around sexual assault prevention, dating/domestic violence prevention, bystander intervention, consent education, etc. </li><li>Create social media content in accordance with CARE's Comprehensive Prevention Plan and manage Resource Center social media accounts. </li><li>Attend required training and bi-weekly supervision meetings. </li><li>Create print resources and educational materials for outreach events and for the Center for CARE's Office for Resources and Education. </li><li>Exhibit student-centeredness in the performance of all job duties. </li><li>Remain current with higher education issues and trends related to Title IX, FERPA, etc. </li><li>Assumes additional responsibilities and performs all special projects as needed or directed. </li><li>Commitment to represent the University and the Center for CARE in a professional and positive manner, both on and off duty. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES FOR THE JOB</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution is required, as well as enrollment in Tiffin University's graduate program during the Graduate Assistant position. </li></ul> <p>Other:</p> <ul> <li>Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic. </li><li>Professionally conduct themselves. </li><li>Work well autonomously and in a team environment. </li><li>Experience in an office or administrative capacity or a role providing similar services and assistance. </li><li>Demonstrated success in networking across departments and programs.? </li><li>Knowledge of Title IX & FERPA. </li><li>Ability to handle sensitive issues. </li><li>Commitment to confidentiality. </li><li>Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills that promote effective working relationships with diverse populations. </li><li>Ability to work both collaboratively and independently. </li><li>Ability to work efficiently under time constraints. </li><li>Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Canva. </li></ul> <p>KEY COMPETENCIES</p> <p>Interdependence: Fosters collaboration</p> <p>Communication: Strong decision-making and communication skills</p> <p>Accountability: Formulates effective and progressive strategies aligned with the University's mission and values</p> <p>Respect: Creates an engaging, collaborative work environment by bringing diverse people and ideas together.</p> <p>Entrepreneurship: Influences and Inspires</p> <p>EMBRACING OUR GUIDING PRINCIPLES</p> <p>VISION STATEMENT - The vision for Tiffin University is to become A premier university for challenging students to enhance their global competencies and 21st-century skills for success in a diverse world.</p> <p>MISSION STATEMENT - The mission of Tiffin University is to Educate students by linking knowledge to professional practice.</p> <p>CORE VALUES - The values of Interdependence, Communication, Accountability, Respect, and Entrepreneurship comprise the ICARE values of Tiffin University.</p> <p>Tiffin University provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
