If you share our commitment to these values and want to join a team that lives them every day, Root Center might be the perfect fit for you!</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the direction of the Claims Supervisor, produces bi-weekly claims, processes and balances remittance advices (Explanation of Benefits) received with payments to update the accounts receivable sub-ledgers, prints reports and files billing and remittance records as required.</p> <p>Hourly Rate Range Starting at $20.00.</p> <p>Actual pay will be determined based on several factors. These may include education, work experience and in some instances, certifications. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues' pay.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>The responsibilities of the Claims Billing Specialist include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Processes Claims; generates claims either as paper billings of electronic files.</p> </li><li> <p>Receives and sorts incoming payments with attention to credibility.</p> </li><li> <p>Manages the status of accounts and balances and identifies inconsistencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Issues invoices, bills and receipts.</p> </li><li> <p>Updates account database with new accounts or missed payments.</p> </li><li> <p>Processing remittances received from payers so that open claims are updated as paid or denied under dollar control.</p> </li><li> <p>Balancing remittances to ensure updated claim records equal payments received.</p> </li><li> <p>Customer Service; Ensures all clients remain informed on their outstanding debts and deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides assistance to clients and employees who need guidance on insurance deductibles, co-pays or balances.</p> </li><li> <p>Mailing; prepares mailings or paper claims or electronically transmitting electronic claims.</p> </li><li> <p>Filing; Documents duplicate payments or other off-balance conditions.</p> </li><li> <p>Files office copies of claims.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports; utilizes the billing system to produce reports for the accounting department of claims management, as requested by the Claims Billing Supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Confidentiality; adheres to Root Center for Advance Recovery's Corporate Compliance Code of Conduct, policies and procedures as well as state and federal law and regulations regarding HIPAA and Privacy and Security.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Requirements</p> <p>Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field, and two (2) years' experience in a billing or insurance position, preferably in a healthcare setting, required.
