<p>Job Title: Automation EngineerJob Description</p> <p>This is a hands-on Senior Automation Engineer position at a live manufacturing facility within the health, nutrition, or regulated process manufacturing space. The engineer will focus on automation and controls troubleshooting, system reliability, and small-to-medium improvement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional plant teams to enhance the performance and sustainability of control systems. The role requires direct involvement in a production environment and taking ownership of automation enhancements from conception to execution.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide day-to-day support to plant operations by troubleshooting automation, instrumentation, and control system issues. </li><li>Lead and execute small-to-medium automation improvement projects from initial concept through implementation. </li><li>Improve reliability, standardization, and documentation across control systems. </li><li>Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and IT/OT teams. </li><li>Help build internal automation capability and reduce dependence on external contractors. </li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support site leadership and plant objectives. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. </li><li>4-8 years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering. </li><li>Strong experience with PLC and/or DCS platforms (experience with DeltaV or similar systems). </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot live production systems in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Experience supporting batch or continuous process manufacturing, particularly in pharma, chemical, food, or other regulated industries. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Allen-Bradley, DeltaV, I/O Checkout, and hardware configuration. </li><li>Data analysis, data science, alarm rationalization, PI Vision, and Seeq. </li><li>Experience configuring thin client managers. </li><li>Someone who appreciates a systematic and structured way of doing things, is independent-minded, very organized, and emphasizes sustainability. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This is a fully on-site role with a work schedule of Monday to Friday. Employees can start work as early as 7:00 AM and end by 4:00 PM, or start at 8:30 AM and conclude at 5:30 PM.
