<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position assists in providing health care and services to Persons in Our Care in a correctional institution infirmary or health services unit. Duties include assisting Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Physicians with direct patient care, including tasks such as: assisting patients in activities of daily living, hygiene and treatments; determining and recording vitals; and assisting in minor procedures. This position will perform patient record related clerical functions and other assigned duties in maintaining day-to-day functioning in a 24/7-unit operation.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule and range 06-12 with a starting pay of $26.42/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>This position is not eligible for remote work. This position is FLSA Non-Exempt.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Applicants must possess by time of hire and maintain certification in CPR by the American Heart Association and training in the use of the AED and have the ability to perform CPR and/or first aid to prevent loss of life and relieve suffering until appropriate care arrives.</p> <p>Applicants will be assessed on relevant experience, including the following:</p> <ul> <li>Using an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), performing CPR, and performing First Aid. </li><li>Making accurate and complete observations and assessing patient status regarding changes in physical and mental condition of patients. </li><li>Initiating action in emergency situations </li><li>Being registered or eligible for registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Wisconsin. </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
