<p>Part-Time Operating Room Certified Surgical First Assistant</p> <p>No Weekends, No Call, No Holidays</p> <p>Bon Secours Surgery Center at Harbour View is seeking a Part Time Surgical Assistant. We are a busy multispecialty surgery center serving Northern Suffolk and an affiliate of United Surgical Partners International (USPI). Each patient, each family, each and every time.</p> <p>The Surgical Assistant is responsible for all departmental functions in support of USPI's mission, vision, and facility goals. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. As a stand-alone surgery center, we embrace high standards of safety and quality while delivering an excellent patient experience.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a working knowledge of operating room procedures with respect to attire, infection control, sterile technique, maintaining integrity of the sterile field and draping the surgical patient within the surgeon's guidelines. </li><li>Provide operating room support to physicians and surgeons, including assisting surgeons during procedures. </li><li>Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient </li><li>Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation </li><li>Independent decision making skills - ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed </li><li>Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staff, patients, and employees. </li><li>Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy. </li><li>Complies with Policies & Procedures and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment. </li><li>Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team. </li></ul> <p>What We Offer</p> <p>As a valued member of USPI, your health and well-being are important to us.
